What’s the weather like? part 2

The National Weather Service has updated its forecast for Wednesday:  “A chance of rain and snow showers before 11am, then a chance of rain showers. Cloudy, with a high near 46. Light north northwest wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.”

Most likely this means the storm has fizzled.

What’s the weather like in SLC?

The National Weather Service indicates that there is a 50% chance of snow on Wednesday with a high of 44 degrees Fahrenheit. You will be happy to learn, however, that Salt Lake City International Airport has never closed because of snow.  We hope it keeps up that fine tradition for the conference.

The weather then clears and we should have mostly sunny skies for NCPTW2015 with highs in the mid 40s to mid 50s.  Keep in mind that Salt Lake is at roughly 4,000 feet altitude and has extremely dry air compared to other parts of the world.  That may make a difference in how you react to the weather.

If you wish to visit the mountains during your stay in Salt Lake, keep in mind that there will be more snow there and that appropriate gear is advised.
